Under the provisions of Chap, i, Acts of. 1892, of Mines and Minerals, Licenses are issued for prospecting Gold and Silver for a term of twelvemonths. Mines of Gold and Silver are laid off in areas of 150 by 250 feet,any number of which up to one hundred can be included in one License,provided that the length of the block does not exceed twice its width. Thecost is 50 cents per area. Leases of any number of areas are granted for aterm of 40 years at | per area. These leases are forfeitable if not worked,)ut advantage can be taken of a recent Act by which on payment of 50 centsannually for each area contained in the lease it becomes non-forfeitable ifthe labor be not performed.
