The progressive flo- rist who ten years ago thought his meth- ods perfect, now has long since discarded them. So if one would succeed in this great business, one must be progressive, make progress and be up-to-date in all things. Everybody knows it is the florist with energy and ambition to push who re- ceives the business. The florist can hardly expect to have other people in- crease his business if he himself does not show enough interest to reach for bigger profits. The fellow who stands at the door of his store waiting to open it for a customer, or who listens for the ring of the telephone, certainly cannot be classed with the florist who spends his spare time thinking up an effective ad- vertisement or ransacking the market for something extraordinary to place in his window.
