An Italian miquelet-lock pistol,circa 1750. Two-stage barrel,octagonal breech section,then faceted after a cut girdle,with smooth bore in 13 mm calibre and brass reinforcements on the muzzle. Cut iron floral designs(somewhat corroded)on the breech. Lightly chiselled miquelet lock,(frizzen spring missing). Smooth walnut stock. Brass furniture engraved with busts and hunting scenes. Later wooden ramrod with bone tip.
