The Aggeler & Musser Seed Co., Los Angeles, Cal., has removed its wholesale and retail seed business from the old lo- cation on North Main street to 620 South Spring street. The catalogues for the southern trade will have to go on the press pretty soon; printers are not busy, but they are short- handed and a job takes longer now than a year ago, as well as costing more. Apparently the United States govern- ment will do what it can to stimulate food production in 1919. The idea may be Mr. Wilson's beneficent one of feeding the conquered fje, but it will not hurt the seed business. "The Growing of Broccoli Seed" was the subject of an address by C. W. Kruse, a seed grower of Oswego, Ore., before the State Horticultural Society of Oregon at its meeting at Roscburg, Ore., Novem- ber 5 to 7. Charles Dickinson, of the Albert Dickinson Co., Chicago, was notified No- vember 16 that his stepson. First Lieut. Gordon Boyd, was killed in action in France November 5. Lieutenant Boyd had been in France since January. The Wholesale Seedsmen's League held its annual meeting in New York Novem- ber 15. The secretary thinks nothing should be published regarding it, although the general impression is that the league's doings are not inimical to either the trade or tlie public interest. In the grass seed trade it is consid- ered that peace is a bull card and there has been, in fact, some advance in prices on timothy and redtop since the armistice was signed. The price of c
