It is told howthe English hadseized a Falmouthpilot to take themover the shoals ofNantucket in safety,but before leaving some of the officers came across the Soundto bid good bye to their hospitable friend the Tory, and triendsof the pilot, learning of this, crossed in two whale boats andlanding in Point Pond, on the outer extremit}^ of the Chop,they marched down the shore and surrounded the Daggetthouse. Two British ofticers were captured, tied hand and footand bundled into the boats, the return trip being made insafety.
