The Tawny Eagle is the commonest and most widely distributed of the larger brown eagles of Africa. The colour does, however, vary considerably from a dark chocolate to a pale creamy colour as in this example. They are territorial and rapacious kleptoparasits from other raptors as well as efficient hunters.
