The bent tooth rolls 353 60 KNIT GOODS FINISHING / are governed by a large internal gear on the driving end of the machineand the straight tooth rolls are governed by the internal gear on theopposite end of the gig. The function of the straight tooth rolls isto hold the cloth while the bent tooth rolls act upon it. They shouldbe given enough speed to keep the cloth just slightly strained aroundthe gig. A large change gear on the feed shaft loosens the cloth anda smaller one tightens it. With a 96-tooth gear on the sprocket stud it would require froma 48 to a 56-tooth gear on shaft. The napping is done principallyby the bent tooth worker. With a 110-tooth gear on the sprocke
