Climbers and ramblers on the summit of Mount Snowdon the highest mountain in Wales UK
Mount Snowdon, situated in the Snowdonia National Park, is the highest mountain in Wales, in fact in the UK outside Scotland. It stands at 1,085 m or 3,560 ft high in the Welsh county of Gwynedd, there are 6 main rambling routes to the summit or a diesel rack and pin train which takes passengers from Llanberin to the summit in approx an hr. The rocks are volcanic formed by glaciation, the summit is marked with a cairn on top of which is a brass plaque with directions for 360 degrees views weather permitting
