Zbs. oz. m 1 15 1 13* l"i 2 2 1,51 1 14 t4i 1 6i This interesting fish reaches a length of more than 2 feet, and is abundant about the Aleutian Islands. It is very frequently taken in the salmon traps and is regarded as a nuisance by the fishennen. It is of some value as a food fish. Imt is rarely eaten. Very common, particularly about Kodiak Island and the Alaska Peninsula. The collection con- tains 9 specimens, 2 to inches long, secured at Sucia Island; Hunters Bay; Loring; Killisnoo; Litnik Bay: Karluk; and in Uyak Bay. It has also been recorded (Bean 1882) as Hemilepidotus trachunis.
