HARDY PERENNIAL PLANTS. 117 HARDY PERENNIALS. The steadily increasing demand for hardy plants has induced us to give ihem more attention and to increase our stock consid- erably. Though our list is not as long as some offered, it has been our aim to offer only the most desirable and to exclude all weedy and inferior sorts. For such of our customers who are not acquainted with the different varieties we shall be pleased to make suitable selections of the most desirable species that, when once planted, with very little care, will keep the garden gay with flowers from the time frost leaves the ground until late in the autumn. NEW ANEMONE, Lady Ardilaun. This is unquestionably one of the finest novelties in hardy plants that has been introduced in many years. It is a variety of the old hardy White Anemone Japonica, but entirely distinct in foliage and growth, producing flowers much larger, with broader petals and of a wax-like substance, overlapping almost to the points, thus forming a most symmetrical flower. It has two or more rows of petals like the old Japonica, but of purest white, and is certain to become very popular. ANEMONE JAPONICA. One of the most beautiful of the hardy herba- ceous plants. They commence to open their rich-colored single blooms in August, and continue to increase in beauty until cut by frost. They thrive best in a light, rich, moist soil, and should not be transplanted more than is necessa when they become too thick. Pure white, yellow cent and dark eye. Elegans. Carmine, yel- low centre, dark eye. Rosea. Dark rose, shaded pink, yellow centre and dark eye. 15 cts. each, $ per doz. ANEMONE WHIRLWIND. A new semi-double form of Anemone Japonica Alba which is sup- posed to be a cross between this beauti- ful variety and A. Japonica Rosea. In general
