Double Equalizer Type No. 62 Truck Details of Construction: TRUCK frames are made of wroughtiron forged in one piece, with aheavy fillet in each corner, andplaned to receive pedestal jaws andcenter frames of transoms. Pedes-tals are of wrought iron and the upper faceof each is machined so as to lip on side faces are machined and providedwith oil grooves. Faces which engage thepedestal tie bars are also machined. Transoms are made of two 10 channelssecured to frames by being bolted tomachined cast steel side strut castings andbolted to side frame with heavy steel gussetplates. Removable chafing plates are also providedon the transom channels. Bolsters are ofcast steel and provided with end springs to limit side motion of car body. Bolsters alsoare provided with removable chafing plates. Equalizers are of wrought iron and forgedwith a lug to fit into recess in the journalboxes.
