ThecylLaders were 24 inches in diameter by 4 feet stroke. Thepaddle-wheels had buckets 4 feet long, witll a dip of 2 drawings, made by Fultons own hand, and showingthe engine as it was in 1808, and the engine of a latersteamer, the Chancellor Livingston, are in the lecture-roomof the author at the Stevens Institute of Technology. The voyage of the Clermont to Albany was attendedby some ludicrous incidents, which found their counterpartswherever, subsequently, steamers were for the first timeintroduced.
