Red Scorpion fish, Scorpaena scrofa, taken in Malta, Mediterranean Sea.

Usually observed solitary the Red Scorpionfish is a pretty one to look at. Scorpionfish are normally integrated in their environment showing a great skill of camouflage. They are barely moving as their swim bladders are reduced. They prey on other smaller fish.
