November, 1914.] NORTH CAROLINA EDUCATION 31 Forward Steps Taken at Rolesvi lie Rolesville, October 13.—Repre-sentatives of the Betterment Associa-tion, school committee and patronsof the Rolesville school met at theschool house in October for the pur-pose of seeing what could be donefor the betterment of the school. Mr. J. H. Mitchell presided overthe meeting. It was decided thateach one be given some specific workto do. Mr. Willie Freemon was appoint-ed to see that the school be suppliedwith wood. Mr. Willis Horton wasappointed chairman of a committeeof eight to dig a well on the groundsand build a shelter over it, and tosee that trees be planted on thegrounds. Mr. Robert Williams was asked tosee that the doors and windows beproperly secured, and Mr. Joe Deb-man was asked to look after all inci-dental expenses connected with theschool. Several loads of wood have alreadybeen hauled to the grounds andMessrs. Bowling and Williams are go
