Ithas been a slow and long process, and 500,000,000 womenand girls still wait for education and enlightenment; but,especially in the past century, a wonderful advance has beenmade. When we remember that Mary Lyon started the firstfemale seminary in America in 1837, let us not be too hard onthe Turks. Even their eyes are opening now.
