Canary Island pine (Pinus canariensis) male pollen bearing flowers Mediterranean garden
Pinus canariensis is native and endemic to the outer Canary Islands (Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Hierro and La Palma) in the Atlantic Ocean. This species is the largest pine native to the Old World. A tree 60 m tall and 835 cm girth (265 cm dbh) has been measured near the road just north of Vilaflor, SW Tenerife.
