PUGET SOUND (Dec. 18, 2016) A Sailor directs a CH-47 Chinook assigned to the Washington National Guard for landing aboard the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) during deck landing qualifications. Deck landing qualifications allow helicopter pilots to gain proficiency landing onboard ships. John C. Stennis is underway to conduct routine training in the 3rd Fleet area of responsibility.
