The last named has enlisted and expects to be called soon. A. Daniels has joined the Har- vard medical unit and soon will leave for the base hospital in France. June business in weddings has been splendid and several orders have been booked for July. The finest carnations now coming to the market are the new rare pink Albert Koper from the Roper Estate, Tewks- bury. These carnations seem to be just as fine in hot as cold weather and realize top prices here. Henry E. Comley at his Park street store is showing some nice pans of aehimenes and gloxinias. He reports that June business was satisfactory. W. J. Thurston, manager of the Flower Exchange, leaves July 9 for a vacation to be spent along the Massa- chusetts coast. William Jurgens, of Newport, is send- ing to A. E. Walsh a superior lot of liliums and outdoor sweet peas. Matthew Siegcl and A. Flick, of Mc- -\ll)ine's, are whist specialists and se- lected strong tables for a tournament at the Otisfield Club hall, Roxbury, June 128. Siegel's table won handsomely. The committee on the annual Gar- deners' and Florists' Club Picnic, to be held at Cunningham park, East Milton, July 25, is busy on details connected with it and expects to make it the best ever. At Galvin's Park street store a large aquatic display fills one window. An- other window is pleasingly arranged with peonies, larkspurs, sweet peas and liliums.
