This,however, was supplemented by a commercial course at EastmansBusiness College, Poughkeepsie, New York, in the spring and summerof 1869. In September, 1869, Mr. Grippin began his business life at generaloffice work with a firm manufacturing malleable iron castings atTroy, New York. He took this step from personal preference,guided by what he terms providential circumstances, actuated bythe firm belief that, if anything is worth doing at all, it is worthdoing well and that advancement and success are sure to foUow. ^^0^
