Rain at Capel Soar-y-Mynydd Calvinistic Methodist chapel (1822), Ceredigion, with a house for visiting preachers at far S end, & a stable (L).

Capel Soar-y-Mynydd Calvinistic Methodist chapel, with a house for visiting preachers at the far (S) end, and a stable to the NE. A 'mission chapel' built in the 1820s, inspired by the earlier missionary work of Hywel (Howel) Harris of Talgarth, 'the father of Welsh Methodism' who came over to preach at a nearby farmhouse in 1740. Taken in heavy rain, looking SE down the track from Ty'n-y-cornel Youth Hostel. Situated beside the Afon Camddwr just N of where it flows into Llyn Brianne, it is one of the most remote places of worship in Britain.
