This fabulous wool shop in a Sheffield suburb is a reminder of high streets as was, when most districts would have their own knitting supplier. The dwindling of interest in the skill, cheaply made imported clothes, the move to artisan wool crafts and of course the strangling of independent shops by high rents have all played their part in seeing these shops off. But here the owner has been running her busy looking shop for 50 years now, and while the Victorian suburb is now a bit run down it has enough of an older clientel base to keep her going.
