A Russian icon "Mother of God, Joy to all who Suffer and Sorrow, with Coins", 19th century, Egg tempera on wood with gold leaf done in the western style presenting the story of a miracle which took place in a glass factory near St. Petersburg in 1888. Lighting struck the icon, knocking it to the ground, and coins from the fallen alms box were discovered sticking to it. Mary is seen granting favour to those who petition her.
