Middle East: A page from 'Fawaeyd el-Aashab' (The Benefits of Herbs) by Abu Gaafar al-Ghafiki, 1582. Islamic medicine, Arabic medicine or Arabian medicine refers to medicine developed in the Islamic Golden Age, and written in Arabic, the lingua franca of Islamic civilisation.
