Hydrologic technician muscles his cable basket back to the starting point after taking Missouri River current measurements below Morony Dam.
The gauging station cable forms a catenary curve across the river. Starting out the operator likely will let the basket zoom across the river and as high up the other end of the curve as possible. Climbing back to the start is a lot of upper body work using the brakes and cable clamp lever. (MR)
