Arcais castle (19th century) in the Marais Poitevin, the largest marsh on the Atlantic coast of France, Deux-Sevres (79). Extending across three departments (Vendée, Deux-Sèvres, and Charente-Maritime), the marsh is situated west of Niort, north of La Rochelle, and south of Fontenay-le-Comte. The myriad canals are covered in green duckweed.
