A new bridge is now in courseof erection across the river. A COLOSSAL BRIDGE 127 of Quebec and, the Provincial Government demonstratedtheir appreciation of the scheme by contributing tangibleassistance in the form of subsidies of $300,000, or £60,000,and $250,000, or £50,000, in return for the facilities intrans-river communication, from which they would reapincalculable benefit.
