Members of the 314th Field Signal Battalion, 89th Division, are seen encamped in muddy conditions at Epinomville, Meuse, France. Despite the challenging environment, the soldiers upturned dirt to create sleeping holes, which unfortunately filled with water overnight. This photograph was taken on October 16, 1918, by Lieutenant Paul W. Cloud of the Signal Reserve Corps.
