About ^. step, supraoccipital; par, parietal; , postfrontal; fr, frontal; , prefrontal; mx, maxilla; ju, jugal, , quadratojugal; or, orbit. The bone on either side of the supraoccipital is the opisthotic, externally to which is the squamosal.^ (From the ' Eec. Geol. Surv. Ind.') 39843. The cranium, imperfect posteriorly; from the Pleistocene (Fig.) of the Narbada Valley. Described and figured by the writer in the ' Palceontologia Indica ' (Mem. Geol. Surv. Ind.), ser. x. vol. iii. p. 204, pi. xxv. fig. 3, and also in the ' Eec. Geol. Surv. Ind.' vol. xxii. p. 56, from which the accompanying woodcut is reproduced.
