The Royal Navy during the Second World War A Supermarine Walrus amphibious aircraft is catapulted from HMS RODNEY to carry out spotting during gunnery practice in the western Mediterranean. The barrels of the battleship's 16 inch guns can be seen beyond the aircraft along with one of her two pounder eight barrelled pompoms.
