Exploration in Australia. 18th-century artwork of British sailors in a deserted Aborigine village in King George III Sound (now King George Sound) in western Australia. Australia was then known as New Holland. The sailors are part of the 1791-5 expedition led by Captain George Vancouver (1757-1798). Artwork from Vancouver's 'Voyage of Discovery to the North Pacific Ocean' (1798).
