Thomas Ionescu (1860-1926), Romanian surgeon. Also known as Thomas Jonnesco, Ionescu was an eminent surgeon and anatomist. He worked in numerous areas of medicine, including urology and anaesthesia. He studied medicine in Paris, France, and worked in both France and in Bucharest, Romania. He founded several medical periodicals, and brought modern surgical techniques to Romania.
