This perfume bottle is one of the earliest examples of glassware blown into a mold. It probably stems from the eastern part of the Mediterranean, where the technique of blow molding was also invented. To the large port city of Sidon such bottles are called 'sidonic bottles'. The bottle is blown into a double mold and is decorated with a row of tongue-shaped elements on the shoulder and the foot with spirals in between.
