1st Lt. Richard W. Sears captures the image of 2nd Lt. V. A. Browning, the son of the inventor of the Browning machine gun, teaching members of the 1st platoon, Company A, 315th Machine Gun Battalion in the usage of the weapon. The Browning machine gun has a firing rate of 500 to 600 shots per minute. The photograph was taken in Le Neufour, Meuse, France, during World War One as part of the activities of the 80th Division. The photograph was approved by the censor, but the date of approval is unknown.
