The herbalist collects plants from the dryer to extract water from the fresh plants, therefore preserving them and their main active ingredients. Spearmint is a variety of green mint. Like all mints it has tonic, fortifying and digestive properties. Mint is antispasmodic and used to be considered a panacea due to menthol’s antibacterial action.
