Capt. Karrey Sanders departs amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27) following a change of command ceremony, Aug. 6. Capt. Matthew Thomas relieved Sanders as commanding officer of Portland during the shipboard ceremony. Portland is underway conducting routine operations in 3rd Fleet.
