Information for employes and the public; being a series of leaflets issued ... by the Pennsylvania railroad system in the interest of improved service, increased efficiency, and a better understanding by employes and the public of railroad problems . WILLIAM J. RONAN ferred to the Motive Power Department as RoadFireman. On February 27, 1885, I was transferred toYard Fireman at Harrisburg, Pa., and waspromoted to Yard Engineman on December 1,1892, remaining in that capacity until retiredfrom active duties. My service takes me back to a period whenthe railroading of today was not dreamed of,and I can look back and mark the great progressin this industry with keen interest, both as to theengine and car equipment, and the road-bed andother features. Fortunately, I have enjoyed remarkably goodhealth, entering the Pennsylvania Railroad ReliefDepartment on August 1, 1886, and never havingbeen placed on the sick or disabled list untilAugust 15, 1916. I have always endeavored tobe loyal to the Company and believe my fidelityis attested by my devotion to duty during myemployment. I feel very grateful for the manyprivileges and courteous treatment accorded meby the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. ALFRED J. MOYER WILLL^M J. RONAN LENGTH OF SER
