Sapânta, Maramures, Romania - 15 October 2018 It's pretty hard to find a happy cemetery, but here is one! The Merry Cemetery is a located in the village of Sapânta, in Maramures county of Translylvania, Romania. It is famous for its colourful and often downright amusing tombstones, adorned with naïve paintings depicting the people buried there, and their life stories. The Merry Cemetery has become a national and international tourist attraction.
