Inother cases it is merely of the wandering type, and either constant orintermittent; or it may be followed or replaced even at the onset by amore or less apathetic or even stuporous condition. The degree ofdelirium does not appear always to bear any definite relationship to theother symptoms or to the gravity of the attack in general. In severecases coma is liable finally to supervene, or it can even be one of the earli-est symptoms. As in the case of delirium, it may vary greatly from dayto day, sometimes rapidly disappearing or reappearing; or coma anddelirium may alternate. The expression of the face in the acute condi-tion
