AUTISTIC CHILD

Reportage at the Objectif Vaincre Autisme (Target Conquer Autism) Centre in Gland, Switzerland. Children suffering from pervasive developmental disorders are followed individually thanks to intensive behavioural interventions in ABA. Sacha, 10, does some exercises with his educator recognising words and images. ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. ABA applies scientific laws to create or modify behaviour which is socially significant for the person and society as a whole. AMA involves a program of techniques for modifying behaviour and developing skills. The skills are taught through procedures of chaining, guiding, prompting, fading, shaping.
