'He will have Miss Florence Patterson to assist him in the work. Miss Patterson is well known to the trade, having had charge of the office at the 1917 spring flower show. The week of the show the office will be moved to the Coliseum building. William Beed, of the A. L. Bandall Co., Chicago, and Julius Dilloff, repre- senting Wertheimer Bros., New York, were visitors last week. Mr. Beed came to select space for a trade display dur- ing show week. Harry Schlechter, of the W. C. Smith Wholesale Floral Co., and captain of the Sweet Pea bowling team, missed the regular bowling night to remain home and celebrate his first wedding anni- versary. Young's, the Florist, Inc., announces that Miss Gertrude Mendle, formerly with Grimm & Gorly, is now associated with the former firm at the new west- end store. John Kern, who a few months ago opened a flower shop, has given up the venture and is back at his old job as designer for F. H. Weber. Adolph Steidle, who is now the pro- prietor of the M. S. Newman Flower Shoppe, reports excellent business in all lines since he became the owner. Several carloads of apples are already here in cold storage for the big fruit dis- play by the Missouri State Horticultural Society in the Coliseum building during show week. H. C.
