A knightly sword,East Scandinavia,11th/12th cebntury. Straight double-edged blade with a shallow fuller on each side. Straight quillons with three disc shaped swellings. Tapered tang with flat disc pommel. Cleaned and restored excavation find. Length 89 cm. Rare type of sword. A similar example is in the National Museum at Helsingfors. Cf.
