UK 3-pin electrical plug, no fuse. This plug is used to connect domestic appliances and tools to the UK's 240-volt alternating current supply. The insulation is colour-coded: live (brown), neutral (blue), and earth (green and yellow). The earth wire connects the appliance and the ground. In the event of a fault in the appliance the current flows to earth causing no harm to the user. The live wire is connected through a fuse (not present), which melts if there is a current overload.
