Marine Sgt. John Munies, a squad leader with 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, puts together an M9A1 9mm service pistol during the division rifle squad competition on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Califorina, Aug. 3, 2021. The competition was designed to test the Marines’ skills and determine the best squad within 4th MarDiv as well as raise the standard of tactical excellence throughout the division. Marine Forces Reserve units have continuously employed Reserve Marines and sailors since 2001.
