General Cook was born in Twiggs county, Georgia, July 30, the age of sixteen he moved to Forsyth, Monroe county, Georgia,and attended school. When nineteen years of age he joined theMonroe Musketeers as a private and enlisted in the Seminole company was one of the five companies that served in that cam-paign from the State of Georgia, and was commanded by CaptainW.
