Two veterans sit under the rest & recreation tent during a Stand Down event, Sept. 29, 2017, at Spring Hill, Fla. Pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Staff Sgt. Samantha Murphy, 23d Wing command post NCO in charge of systems, spent three days at the event helping veterans by providing counseling and social work. Throughout the year, Stand Down events are held around the country to provide a plethora of services and aide to homeless and at-risk veterans.
