The two cars, gaylydecorated with flags and bunting, were stationed half amile apart on opposing hills, and filled with inflammablematerial; which was saturated with kerosene. Justbefore the start the cars were set on fire, and a momentlater were a roaring mass of flames, which strung outin long ribbons of fire as the cars dashed down thegrades and approached at a terrific rate of speed. Electric cars have now been put in service upon theonly remaining line of the Baltimore Traction Company,hitherto operated by cable.
