The Native Infantry regiments of the rightwing were now coming up, and the two leadingbattalions quickly forming line, were led for-ward by Lake to reinforce the 76th, and withthem follow up the advantage gained by thecharge of the 29th. The crisis was, however,still acute, the Marathas standing valiantly totheir guns, pouring a concentrated artillery andinfantry fire on the two battalions, and facingtheir charge, bayonet to bayonet.
