Sefton Park in Liverpool, a 235 acre Grade 1 historic park and is a Green Flag and Green Heritage awarded site. It features a playground, bowling gree, tennis courts, caves & waterfalls, lake, cafes, bandstand, statues & monuments and the magnificent restored historic Palm House. Sefton Park Palm House is an octagonal, 3 tiered, Grade II* listed Victorian glasshouse displaying plants from around the world and hosts a variety of events which include local bands, choirs, dances and artesian fairs. Sefton Park hosts some major events such as two free music festivals, Africa Oye, a celebration of African music and culture and Liverpool International Music Festival - LIMF. Statue of Liverpool merchant William Rathbone who served as a councillor and mayor to Liverpool and was responsible for many social reforms. He introduced public baths & wash houses, gave aid to the famine relief in Ireland, personally funded the first nurses training in the UK and was an active supporter of the Municipal Reform Act 1835
