Philippine and service members build a classroom at Malitbog Elementary School in Tapaz, Capiz, May 8, 2017 as part of a humanitarian civic action project for Balikatan 2017. The service members are with 230th Engineer Company, Hawaii Army National Guard and Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3. The Philippine Soldiers are with 53rd Engineering Brigade, Philippine Army. Balikatan is an annual bilateral military exercise focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, counterterrorism, and other combined military operations.
