Queen Mab is the Celtic fairy of dreams, her grotto is a natural cave formed in the Pleistocene when sea levels were much higher. The cove is named after French invaders who are believed to have landed here during the reign of William III (1688-1702). The cove is on East Sideland immediately N of Brazen Ward, N of Threequarter Wall.
